At Tindall's Virgin Timbers we offer a full line of antique flooring of exceptional quality and value.  Materials are reclaimed from the barns and farm houses of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the surrounding counties.  All lumber is kiln dried before being processed into finished flooring.

          Original Surface Flooring
This style of flooring features the original walked-smooth surface of historic antique flooring.  We only mill the bottom and edges of these boards, which gives you a floor with a new tongue and groove while retaining the texture and patina of a period floor.  This is antique flooring at its best.

          Colonial Surface Flooring
Our most rustic style of flooring comes from distressed and weathered boards.  The surface of these aged boards is lightly planed and processed into finished flooring.  It features rich patina and distinct character which gives this flooring a time-worn appearance that cannot be artificially recreated.

             Resawn Timber Flooring
Carefully chosen timbers which come from barns and factories are sawn into boards using a thin-kerf band saw.  This reveals the old growth quality lumber that has aged for a century or more.  The tight grain and stability of this flooring cannot be matched.

Antique White Oak Withstanding the test of time with its strength and rot resistance white oak was the most sought after lumber in early construction.  It is characterized by tight and distinctive grain patterns with colors ranging from light-tans to medium browns.  This floor is an excellent choice for high traffic areas where elegance is the appeal.

Antique Red Oak This oak species carries much of the same allure of its cousin white oak, yet has a more definitive grain pattern.  The color ranges from a light-tan to a reddish-brown. This floor has a rustic charm while retaining the sophistication for which oak is known.

Antique Chestnut Our most rare flooring option is the antique chestnut.  The once abundant species is now extinct due to a blight that decimated this treasured wood, making it available only through reclamation of historic structures.  Its mix of small worm holes and honey-yellow to golden-brown coloring gives it a warmth that is unparalleled by any contemporary species.

Antique White Pine One of the most common flooring choices in early farm houses, white pine is known for its stability over time.  A subtly grained softwood typified by creamy-white to orangish-browns is a perfect match for a comfortable or historic interior design.

Antique Heart Pine The hardest of all pines comes from the heart of the long-leaf yellow pine.  This prized wood was utilized in the construction of large factories before steel beams were available for commercial use.  We remill these heavy timbers exposing the dense, tight, amber-orange grain that was hidden for so long.  Because of heart pine's warmth and durability it is suitable for any room in every style home. This wood was also used in early homes as flooring, which we reclaim and process for historic restorations and reproductions.
